Why test
planks?Scaffold
planking is a substantial investment.
Using questionable or damaged planking can
cause accidents that will expose the company to
shutdowns, investigations, lost work and fines.
The only way to be sure that planking still
complies as an OSHA plank with
the approved specifications is to machine test the scaffold plank, or buy new
material.
Another advantage of plank
testing on site testing has been the
return to service of questionable planking.
There is also a solid payback in worker safety
with trusted planking. Cut back planking can be
re-tested before use to ensure
safety.
Stationary Plank Tester
(SPT-5)The SPT-5
industrial computers are fully programmable,
holding four different programs at a time.
Programs can be rapidly switched for different
plank lengths and deflection criteria complying
with OSHA, CSA, or custom
plank loading specifications. The fully
floating pressure foot allows proper testing of
warped and twisted planks, and the optional
plank brander will automatically mark planking
with the test date or other info immediately
after the test is
passed.
Mobile Plank Tester
(SPT-5M)Indian
Mill SPT-5M Mobile Plank tester is a trailer
mounted plank testing center
which can be easily towed to a jobsite
utilizing any 110-volt power. SPT5-M contains
all the features of SPT5.
The features of the SPT5 were predetermined in
2001 at a meeting with representatives from
Purdue University, OSHA,
Carpenters Union, Petro Chemical E&D
groups, and Indian Mill.
